D'Amore's Pizza Connection on Westwood (map)
People argue that the iPad is about consumption and not creation which brings me to the thought, are you a consumer of information or content creator?
We all create at some level in the form of reports for bosses, power point presentations for investors and excuses for our significant others for why we have failed to do that which we were asked.
We also all consume content in many forms. The question is do your consider yourself a person who creates or one who just consumes?
In photography as with many other things we consider someone professional if they are paid for their work (hence why I do one paid photo gig a year just so I can say I am a professional photographer). But where do we draw the line when it comes to content creators? Does writing one topic a week for over 5 years distributed to 900 plus people (most of whom may or may not read it) make me a content creator or does the fact that I spend more time consuming content in preparation for a topic out weigh the effort?
What swings the balance between being a creator verses a consumer? Why do creator create and if they create content that is not really consumed by others are they still deemed a creator? Many artist where un-appreciated or did not reach popularity till they were long gone yet to day no one would questions their creations as legitimate.
Is an editor a creator or are they something else?
With so many options for self distribution can anyone cross over and become a creator?
Join us as we explore content consumption and creation in an age where content flows easily and consumption can happen anywhere.
