D'Amore's Pizza Connection on Westwood (map)
Many people are looking for something but are unsure of what that something is; a job, a career, an opportunity or maybe a new project or business.
Gary Vaynerchuk author of "Crush It!" says, "Look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself what do you want to do every day for the rest of your life." While I am not sure that social media and writing about that which you are most passionate about will bring everyone Gary's level of financial success and security there is no doubt that the key to success and happiness is closely tied to ones passions.
In his book Gary discusses how things have profoundly changed and that the barriers/gate-keepers are being broken down and eliminated. He encourages readers to build upon their passions and that being transparent and true to yourself can be the heart of a winning marketing formula. While Gary's idea are more about content there is none the less lots there that can be applied in other sectors as well.
Rosa Say who is never short of passion recently wrote in her blog, where she share her thoughts on value alignment and managing with aloha, "Our big ideas don’t have to change the world. They just have to move it along." As she explains, it is our unreasonable expectations and feeling that an idea isn’t that great that stop us from pursuing them. It is our passion for an idea that enables it to be greater then we may see it in the first place.
Now, if ideas and passion are the energy and heat then focus is the fulcrum needed to convert that potential into something real. Well executed focus can bring about that rhythm and ease that makes things hum and happen rather then struggle in the face of adversity.
Are you focused in a manner that allows your ideas and passions to become positives? What idea of your have you put off simply because you did not think it would make a big enough impact? How can you take the concepts of passion or inspiration and improve your present job or endeavor (even if that is finding your next paying gig)?
More today then ever, it is not the time to be taking large risks but that does not mean that you should give up on ideas and those things that you are most passionate about. Finding ways to keep your passion and ideas moving in a forward direction is the key.
Join us as we talk about ideas, passion and staying focused on that which will bring satisfaction and prosperity to us and those we work with.
As always, there is no better way to meet and connect with other executives then over dinner and conversation. $21 in advance via PayPal or $25 at the event gets you a full dinner, drink and the best networking around.
