Face it these are three areas that challenge many executives. There is no better evidence then the plethora of tools, systems and philosophies that exist for these three semi connected elements.

One might imagine a world where one could layout ones work tasks while keeping firmly in mind the resources inherent in their connections (both internally and externally) and then utilize a seamless low/no friction collaboration tool to make it all come together.

A nice idea but unfortunately not really a reality. None the less the need to know your what resources exist in your network and company in context of your tasks so that you can effectively work together is the crux of many of our work life problems.

The mastery of any one of these items is enough for some but when you look at the truly great executive, I think you will find that they have found away to master all three.

I personally tend to struggle with task management and I am always trying to refine or discover some way of not being overwhelmed by the to do list. However I am very good at managing my connections and knowing where to the find the right person or resource. I am also good with collaboration and have made good use of a number of the collaboration tools to maximize the efforts of myself and others.
